I scratched it up with sandpaper, sprayed a bit of primer on it, then spray painted it!
It's all finished and hanging above the table in the schoolroom! I'll be posting pics of that and my most recent chair re-do soon.
For TONS more perusing of others' thrifty treasures head on over to

Love the redo. Know what you mean - I have gotten rid of some things in the past that I wished I had kept.

Wow. Great idea. I have one of those over my dining room table that I can't stand. I think I'll try painting it. Thanks for the idea.
ReplyDeleteI thought those were blue candles on the chandy, and I thought, Wow, that's really pretty! But I figured out it's painter's tape, isn't it? I really need to wear my glasses ALL the time! WILL you be putting candles on it? I just made one of these into a teacup chandy birdfeeder. I'll be showing it tomorrow. Can't wait to see how yours turned out!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so great! You should post it at Met Monday, too.
ReplyDeleteLove it! It looks Great!
ReplyDeleteWhere is this pretty little baby going to go? I know that same feeling you got when you wondered why in the world you gave something away instead of keeping it. And then when you see someone else re-purpose the exact same thing to make it fantastic - Maddening... AAAHHH....
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted this. I have one that I picked up at the thrift store that needs a good painting. Great job!

My mom offered me one very similar and I turned it down. Don't know what I was thinking. I am sure it is going to look great! Jackie
ReplyDeleteI have one almost exactly like it hanging over my dinning room table this very second. I have been pondering giving it a good coat with a can of spray paint for a bit of a face lift.
ReplyDeleteHMMMMMMMM maybe a trip to the Wal-Mart is in order for some pray paint...
Blessings
