christmas 2010

Thursday, December 30, 2010

christmas eve.  we came home from church and the kids all opened up new pajamas.
christmas morning.  hank led the pack into the family room!

dancy spotted the family surprise from grandpa and grandma first.

 a new toboggan!

this baby has already hit the back hills!  so fun!

i don't think boone has let that nerf gun out of his sight.....still.

dubs was super into unwrapping the gifts.  such a fun age!

dancy was SO excited to receive her very own sewing machine!  the other kids
were all happy for her one knew she was getting it :)

dubs is loving his cloth john deere book i found on etsy.  he
calls big trucks and tractors "big bews"

i gave mr. daddy a turkey call and a deer call....kind of as a joke.  since he is NOT a hunter
and we live in the middle of a ton of wildlife.

well 5 minutes later a huge flock of turkey went strutting across the back yard and he
opens up the window and uses his call.  they all ran away :)

boone was busy climbing windows to retrieve nerf gun suction bullets :)

merry christmas little man.

fun masks from etsy.

merry christmas and a happy new year!

easy christmas card display

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

i love getting the mail at Christmas time!  we are blessed to have so many loved ones in our lives...
look at all the cards!

normally, i have the cards in a cute little basket in our foyer.  this year, since
i have a huge blank, undecorated wall, in my kitchen i decided to string all the cards up.

i used disposable command hooks (that leave no mark :) ), ribbon, mini clothes pins from hobby lobby, thread and white pom poms.

super easy and fun for everyone to look at :)  and it alleviates the dilemma of having no idea
what to put on that wall for decor. temporarily.

birthday boys

 6.  4.   2.

boone and hank waiting for guests to arrive...

this is our version of a lego/toy story themed party.  :)

keeping it simple with cupcakes.  these are gluten free.  deanie, boone and myself are all on special diets to help defeat various ailments.  (dog allergies, reflux, and muscle weakness).

how long will my little men let me dress them alike?  they've already promised i can hold them in my lap when they're "old" them.  thank you God.

a super cape and a john deere camo hat.  what else could a 6 year old want?

....maybe more LEGOS!

at party #2, hank received a new lawn mower.  this little man follows daddy while he mows.  i accidently ran over his old little tike mower with the suburban.  :(  he was THRILLED with the replacement.

the stash picture.

and the stash picture with dubs crying.  we had to take him off his little scoot around for the picture.

i love you boys.  God created each one of you in a unique and perfect way.  happy birthday(s)! :)

Friday, December 10, 2010

pantone has announced the color of the year for 2011.......honeysuckle.  i love it!

i know my girls will love it!

you can even get your visa on board :)  hilarious.

lonny magazine december

i was just delivered the most recent issue of lonny magazine to my email inbox.  ahhh.  a few favorites already:

love the marble effect i'm seeing in accessories lately.

the grey couch, orange pillows, art gallery, window seat, simple lined drapes.....its all cute!

pretty little sparkle.

thanksgiving. so much to be thankful for.

Friday, December 3, 2010

i'm posting a little and now thanksgiving...but i wanted to share thanksgiving!  :)

the girls were super helpful preparing the feast....some people snap their beans.  we cut.  you can also see the ingredients for grandma great's famous creamed corn, which i will be sharing at the end of this post.

checking PW's amazing sweet potato recipe...making sure i've got it right.

dubs.  he's just cute. :)

oh glory.  look at that tom.  perfectly glazed and stuffed.  mmmmmm.  my mom and dad prepared this bird and brought it over.

really.  this is what its all about.  always.

oh let the carving begin.... i think my dad has worn that same apron for every thanksgiving i can remember!

ah...the table is set!  we added one fold away table to the end of our main table.

hank and his little cousin sat at this little table.  they are such best little friends :)

almost ready!

nana and dancy led devotions before we ate.

moving right along and skipping over the cleaning of dishes.... game time!  one of many rounds of blokus.

after dinner wine and games as we move on through the day.....

round two!  you know...pull out all the leftovers.  make turkey buns.  the other side of the family came over to join us and catch phrase followed.... with speed scrabble to round out the evening..

it was so fun to laugh with family.  meet new friends.  share traditions.

give thanks to the Lord for He is good.  His love endures forever.  Psalm 136:1
