40 bags in 40 days: in action

my friend amy came over the other day with her adorable kiddos.  we talked about lent and made these  gameboards to track the days until Easter.  i found the idea here.

we added Jesus (attached with poster putty) that will move along each day.

amy went home and started her 40 bags in 40 days journey. she blogged about it here.
go visit amy and you will see that they didn't end up pulling their hair out....they were successful!

her pantry is simplified, clean.  i'm sure that her mind doesn't have to think about that anymore....leaving more room for GOD!   and THAT is awesome.

are you blogging your 40 bags in 40 days project?  please let me know!

  3. Hi Sara,

I have been reading your blog for a few months. Very inspiring! When I first read your post about the 40 days I thought it would be a wonderful thing to do. I even called my sister in Florida and she is now doing it too. Each day we are talking to encourage and motivate each other.

The only change I made for my list is that I also planned days where I plan on finishing projects that are only partially done. I don't know why but that is truly what brings stress to my life and keeps me from focusing on what I should be putting my energy toward.

Thanks so much for the idea!

  4. Thank you for sharing the 40 bags in 40 days idea. I think we all need to simplify our lives and what a great idea to combine simplifying with Lent. I am starting 2 days late, but I will be joining your journey. I'll work on my list today and give you updates.

  7. Hi Sarah,
I am blogging about my 40 in 40 journey over here in Australia.
I am doing really well so far & I am very focused on the task at hand. The first 3 days were taken up with my bedroom, WIR-walk in robe & Ensuite. Loving every minute of it & I can't wait to see your posts on your progress,
    Niki
Love your blog by the way.

  11. I don't know how I stumbled across your blog... but it has something to do with this rainy/icey day we are having... I'm inspired and don't want to leave! I LOVE the movable Jesus, we have similar calendar and have been putting a sticker on each day with our 3.5 year old she's our oldest. God's blessings to you and your beautiful family!!
