boys bunk room update

i finally put the new bedding on all the bunks.

the striped duvets are from west elm and the pillow covers are from etsy.

i still wouldn't change a thing about these bunks.  the boys love them.

they're roomy and the individual light is so practical.

i still stand my ground that these beds are no more difficult to make than my girl's twin beds.

the boys have a fitted sheet and a duvet cover.  no in between sheet.  its just easier this way.
if they need an extra blanket we keep a stack in the closet.

  2. Sara- I love it! You have such a talent for home decor and design. I sometimes use a flat sheet but I agree that they are usually pretty lame.

  3. Love the bedding you chose! My girls hate top sheets...not sure why I even bothered. Love the bunks, am book marking this for later when we have grandkids!! (our girls are now 18 and almost 22).

  5. Love it! All three of our boys share a tiny room, but I would love to have a real bunk room for them some day! So practical, and helps sow special bonding between them. I agree... Flat sheets are useless! We haven't used them in years, LOL! Just wish we didn't have to pay for them in a sheet set. ;)

the striped duvets are awesome and kind of make the room...especially with the added pop of orange.

  10. How have you kept the paint on the stairs looking so good? That's either some TOUGH paint, or you are touching up frequently?

  14. I adore these built ins. We stayed in a vacation house this past summer that had built in bunk beds with cubbies and lights just like yours and my kids absolutely loved them! Your ceilings must be 12 feet high! The bedding is perfect.

Love. Love. Love. The bunkhouse room! We have 3 boys and have been measuring to see how we could replicate this look. Do you mind telling me the length, depth and height of your bunks? I am looking up the XL twin mattresses size as well to make sure the dimensions would fit the room or if we need to improvise. I look forward to hearing from you, so excited!

  19. I love the bunk bed, I guess I am asking the same question. Where did you get the instructions for it or is this your own ideaÉ

  20. Thank you for sharing this incredible post. These bunks are just so convenient and would surely maximize space. The bed sheets are so cool and these go so well with the overall room color. Several families will learn from this or draw more ideas to use in their homes. Again, thank you for sharing.
